In Style USA

I’ve transcribed the little feature from In Style magazine (November 19th 2008) which speculates that Gwen is wishing for a new baby girl!
Gwen wants a girl next!
She just gave birth two months ago, but Gwen Stefani is ready for another child - and this time, the mother of 2-year-old Kingston and newborn Zuma wants a daughter. “She plans to start trying to get pregnant soon in a way that will increase her odds of having a girl,” says a friend of Gwen’s, who reveals that the singer will chart her cycle and attempt to conceive a couple of days before ovulation, a method that supposedly results in more female babies. “Gwen heard about this from her ob-gyn and also read about it on the internet,” her pal says. “It’s not a surefire thing, but it usually works.” so how does husband, Gavin Rossdale, feel about adding to the family so soon? “One is one and two is 10,” the rocker told In Touch at the VH1 Save the Music Foundation benefit in LA on October 25. But they’re ready: “We’ve got it down now, it’s not that bad,” he added.
But Kingston is jealous!
One member of the family is not too happy about the new addition - big brother Kingston. “It’s like, here is this guy, and he’s not leaving,” Gavin, 43, tells In Touch. “Obviously, he’s bugged out that someone else is in his spot with his mom.”

Gwen’s baby weight panic
When Gwen Stefani was carrying her son Zuma, she gained an estimated 45 pounds - and often joked to friends that she was “huge.” But insiders tell InTouch that the pop star’s jabs at herself were no laughing matter. “Gwen was very insecure during her pregnancy with Zuma. She thought she wasn’t sexy,” reveals an insider. “She would look at pictures in magazines and comment on how skinny other women were. Being pregnant was a blessing, but it also was very hard to let her body go.”
Gwen’s husband, Gavin Rossdale, 40, admitted recently that she feels pressure to get her sexy body back. “It’s very hard because everyone’s so judged,” he said. Read the rest of this article »

Hello! UK
Gwen Stefani talks babies
As their happy family grows to four with the birth of Zuma Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale share their thoughts on parenthood and marriage.
Gwen Stefani and her rock star husband Gavin Rossdale were the picture of contentment as they brought baby Zuma Nesta Rock back to their Los Angeles home last week after his birth at the Cedar Sinai Medical Center.
The new arrival, whose unusual first name is thought to be inspired by a beach near their home, is a brother for two-year-old Kingston. It means the 38-year-old pop star has to meet the demands of two small children at the same time as recovering from a Cesarean, but Gwen insists she’s happier than ever. Motherhood, she says, is “one of the most incredible events in my life”. Read the rest of this article »

UK Tabloids report on birth of Zuma
The Sun, page 3

Gwen calls baby Zuma Nesta Rock (WE THINK IT’S A BOY)
Gwen Stefani has given birth to her second child — and given it one Aztec of a silly name.
The singer and rocker hubby Gavin Rossdale have named the little mite Zuma Nesta Rock.
The couple have followed in the fashion for crazy names for celebrity tots with the moniker, which has Aztec origins.
The tot — born in Los Angeles on Thursday at eight pounds — is brother to Kingston, two.
Gwen, 38, and Bush frontman Gavin, 42, released a statement yesterday which read: “Mother and baby and family are all happy and healthy.”
Speculation surrounding the unusual names last night.
The name Zuma means Lord Frowns in Anger, though it is a short form of Montezuma, the fifth Aztec emperor. But it is also the name of a Japanese restaurant in London where the couple live. Nesta was reggae legend Bob Marley’s middle name. And Rock is… well, what both parents do for a living.
The tot is latest silly celeb name casualty, after Jordan’s girl Princess Tiaamii, Gwyneth Paltrow’s Apple and Geri Halliwell’s Bluebell Madonna and the Beckham kids, Romeo, Brooklyn and Cruz.
The Mirror, page 17 (3am gossip column)

Oh no… Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale have called their newborn girl Zuma Nesta Rock Rossdale. Zuma joins the couple’s other son, Kingston. What with Nesta being Bob Marley’s name and Kingston being the capital of Jamaica, we reckon Gwen must be creating a new baby reggae band.
Or maybe she is just hoping for “No baby, no cry”.

So, you’re ready to pop! We’ve got hot water and towels ready! Are you scared of becoming a mum for the second time?
No, I’m very happy now. I love being with my son Kingston and taking care of him. I can’t wait to do it all again.
Babies tend to strain relationships, so did it change your marriage to Gavin?
No, it’s good we have something together outside our crazy relationship! [Laughs] I feel we’re closer in many ways now we have a child. We’ve both become more romantic and caring for each other. Read the rest of this article »
